  Mission

The Catholic Daughters follow the motto "UNITY and CHARITY" and strive "to be helping hands where there is pain, poverty, sorrow or sickness."

Formed over 100 years ago the CDA has over 95,000 members in more than 1,400 courts (local chapters) in 45 states across the country (and in Puerto Rico, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Guam, and the Virgin Islands). These ladies meet to initiate and implement projects to benefit their parishes and communities.

CDA ladies share faith, love of God and feminine spirituality with their involvement in society issues both within their church and those that affect the well being of women and children.

Girls and young women ages 8-18 can join the Junior Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Here are some of the projects of the Catholic Daughters:

Catholic Daughters will be hosting Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving day, Nov 23rd  from 12-2pm  following the 11am Mass.  There is no cost but donations are welcome.  Please see the sign-up sheet in the narthex.  Please consider donating even if you are unable to attend.

It’s almost time for the Catholic Daughters to set up our annual

Angel Tree...please watch the bulletin and listen for

announcements.

We donate to local and national charities, administer scholarship programs and strive “to be helping hands where there is pain, poverty, sorrow or sickness.” We undertake events to financially support the charities we support.

We collect Box tops for Education to support programs at Asheville Catholic School.  Box tops are collected and sent to ACS twice a year, in April and December.  Members of the parish are encouraged to participate. Box tops may be given to any Catholic Daughter.

Catholic Daughters thank the members of SJA for their donations of suitcases and bags for children in Buncombe County Foster Care.  Over 100 suitcases and bags were collected. We will be holding this collection again in the future, so save those suitcases!

Thank you again for your generosity and support.
